PUBLIC COMMENT

Timothy Whittens – Mr. Whittens installed solar panels in August of 2015.  In the spring of this year he received a reassessment notice in the mail.  He spoke with the Assessor and was told there was a 15 year exemption period so not to worry about it.  When he received his School taxes, they had gone up almost 40%.  He was then told he needed to have an exemption form filled out and turned in by March 1st of last year in order to receive the Solar Exemption.  Mr. Whittens is asking for a rebate on his taxes for this year.  The Board questioned Mr. Whittens as to whether he had obtained a permit for the solar panels, he said he had.  He was also told the exemption form had been mailed to him, but he never saw it.  The Board will look into this.
